Every Move Explained: Morphy's Opera House Game

Sunday December 21, 2008

Since beginning as About.com's Chess Guide, I've received numerous requests for various types of articles. By far, the most common request has been for an "every move explained" section, detailing the reasoning behind every move of high-quality chess games.

I'm happy to report that one of these articles is now available. I hope you will enjoy Every Move Explained: Morphy's Opera House Game. This game, played by Morphy against two amateur consultants, is one of the best known games in chess history -- and it's quite instructive, too. I'm looking forward to adding more games in the coming months.
