Anand Expands Lead With Second Win
In the highest levels of chess, wins with Black are fairly rare. Two wins with Black in three games against a former World Champion is nearly unheard of, but that's exactly what Viswanathan Anand has pulled off against Vladimir Kramnik, expanding his lead in the World Chess Championship Match to 3.5-1.5.
Anand played the same ambitious Slav line as he did in Game 3, achieving another interesting game as Black. Kramnik went for tactical complications in an even position, but failed to see to the end of the combination - after which Anand had a clearly winning position. The loss leaves Kramnik down two games with just seven games to play, meaning he may need to start playing with wins not only as White, but in his Black games as well. Here is Anand's win:
White: Vladimir Kramnik
Black: Viswanathan Anand
