2007 CJA Awards

Friday August 24, 2007
The Chess Journalists of America (CJA) have announced their 2007 awards. Popular chess writer Mig Greengard, blogmeister of the Daily Dirt Chess Blog, won the prestigious Chess Journalist of the Year award. The award for Best General Web Site went to Hanon Russell for the highly respected ChessCafe.com site. Of special interest are the winner and five honorable mentions in the final category: Excellence in Chess Writing, Mainstream Media.

You can find links to the mainstream media articles and to all Internet entries, plus a full list of the CJA awards at 2007 Chess Journalism Awards. The awards, formally known as the '2007 Chess Journalists of America / Fred Cramer Awards Committee for Excellence in Chess Journalism', are incomplete because the Cramer Awards for Best Book and Best Chess Column have not yet been announced. Congratulations to all award winners!
