Elsewhere on the Web : Fischer - Spassky BBC Documentary

Sunday April 29, 2007
The BBC documentary on the 1972 match between World Champion Boris Spassky and challenger Bobby Fischer has been available on the Web for some time. It features interviews with both Fischer and Spassky, plus other chess luminaries having inside knowledge of the match: Robert Byrne, Larry Evans, Nikolai Krogius, and many others. If you haven't seen it, the full video is available on Google Video:

The BBC is world famous for it high quality documentaries. Since the recent news about a BBC - YouTube pact (see BBC strikes Google-YouTube deal, 2 March 2007) we hope to see more BBC chess videos become available. Clips from the 1993 Kasparov - Short match in London, which was covered extensively by the BBC, would be especially interesting.
